01 — Mission

Compliance your contracts can stand on.

Federal contracts carry security obligations: safeguarding Federal Contract Information, protecting Controlled Unclassified Information, reporting incidents within 72 hours, and posting an assessment score before award.

HARDAC turns those obligations into a working security program. We scope what applies to you, close the gaps with your team, and leave you with evidence an assessor, an Authorizing Official, or a prime contractor will accept.

  • Advisory and implementation from Cyber AB Registered Practitioners
  • Grounded in FAR, DFARS, 32 CFR Part 170, and NIST publications
  • Independent from the C3PAOs and government teams that assess you

02 — When to start

When contractors call us.

Compliance work usually starts with a deadline. These are the situations we see most often.

A solicitation names a CMMC level

Your status must be in place at award. We confirm the level, scope your environment, and close the gaps in time.

A prime asks for your SPRS score

DFARS requirements flow down to subcontractors. We help you complete a NIST SP 800-171 assessment you can defend.

A prime needs RMF support

Agency systems need an authorization to operate. Primes subcontract HARDAC to deliver RMF work on their awards.

You need proof your controls work

Policies describe controls; testing proves them. We show how an attacker could get in and what to fix first.

04 — Methodology

How an engagement runs.

The same four stages apply whether you are preparing for CMMC, an SPRS submission, or an authorization decision.

01

Scope

We identify the requirements in your contracts and the systems, people, and facilities they apply to.

02

Gap assessment

We measure your controls against the framework and deliver a prioritized remediation roadmap.

03

Remediation

We work alongside your team to implement controls and write the documentation behind them.

04

Assessment readiness

We review your evidence before an assessor does and support you through assessment and affirmation.

05 — CMMC levels

Your contract sets the level.

Each level adds requirements and a stricter form of assessment. We prepare you for the one your contract names.

Level 1

Foundational

For contractors that handle Federal Contract Information.

15 requirements from FAR 52.204-21
Assessment
Annual self-assessment
Affirmation

Level 2

Advanced

For contractors that handle Controlled Unclassified Information.

Requirements
110 requirements from NIST SP 800-171 Rev 2
Assessment
Self-assessment or C3PAO, every three years
Affirmation
Annual, in SPRS
POA&M

Level 3

Expert

For a limited set of high-priority defense programs.

Requirements
Level 2 plus selected NIST SP 800-172 requirements

06 — What you receive

Documents you can hand to an assessor.

Every engagement ends with written deliverables built around how your organization actually operates.

Gap assessment report

Each finding mapped to its requirement, rated by risk, with recommended actions.

Remediation roadmap

A sequenced plan showing what to fix, in what order, and who owns it.

System security plan

Your boundary and how each requirement is implemented in your environment.

Plan of action and milestones

Open items with owners and dates, within the limits each framework allows.

Policies and procedures

The written controls behind your plan, developed with your team.

Penetration test report

Findings ranked by severity, with evidence, impact, and remediation steps.

07 — Why HARDAC

A small firm built for federal work.

You work directly with the practitioners doing the work, and we can join your award as a prime or a subcontractor.

Cyber AB Registered Practitioners

Our CMMC work is delivered by Cyber AB Registered Practitioners, trained in the CMMC model, scoping, and assessment process.

Independent from assessment

An RPO prepares you for assessment and does not conduct it, so your certification result stays independent.

Hands-on remediation

We implement controls, configure systems, and write documentation with your team, not just a report.

Ready to team

Registered in SAM.gov as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, so primes can bring us onto federal awards.

Federal requirements first

Our guidance starts from FAR, DFARS, and NIST rather than commercial frameworks adapted after the fact.

Direct access

No account layer between you and your engagement team, from the first call through the final deliverable.

08 — Program status

Where CMMC stands today.

Requirements already in your contracts still apply. Self-assessments are required now, and certification assessments will follow.

Program rule effective

32 CFR Part 170 establishes the CMMC program and its three levels.

Phase I begins

Contracts may require Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments as a condition of award.

Phase II suspended

The Department suspended the phase that would have required Level 2 C3PAO certification.

DFARS 7012 still applies

Safeguarding, 72-hour incident reporting, and SPRS scoring remain contract requirements.

09 — FAQ

Common questions.

Have a question we did not answer? Call +1-615-219-9582.

What is a Registered Practitioner Organization?

An RPO is an organization registered with the Cyber AB to provide CMMC advisory and implementation services through Registered Practitioners. RPOs help organizations prepare for CMMC. They do not conduct certification assessments, which are performed by accredited C3PAOs at Level 2 and by DCMA DIBCAC at Level 3.

Which CMMC level do we need?

Your contract sets the level. Organizations that handle only Federal Contract Information need Level 1. Organizations that handle Controlled Unclassified Information need at least Level 2. Level 3 applies to a limited number of high-priority programs.

How is an SPRS score calculated?

The DoD Assessment Methodology starts at 110 and subtracts a weighted value for each NIST SP 800-171 requirement that is not implemented. DFARS 252.204-7019 requires a current score in SPRS before award.

Can HARDAC subcontract on our federal award?

Yes. HARDAC is registered in SAM.gov and can support prime contractors as a subcontractor, including RMF and ATO work on agency systems.

How are engagements priced?

By scope. Cost depends on the framework, the size of your in-scope environment, and the maturity of your current controls. We scope each engagement after an initial consultation so the effort is clear before you commit.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. CMMC requires an annual affirmation, and RMF requires continuous monitoring. Ongoing engagements keep your compliance current between assessments.
